It’s a tough fact to swallow for many people, but here’s the truth: Your thoughts become things. You cannot focus your thoughts on something for very long without seeing the evidence of it. As the bible says, “seek and ye shall find” or “as a man thinks, so shall he be!” 

So what’s my point you ask?

Many, in fact, I would say a majority of Americans (if they were truly honest with themselves) would have to admit that their thoughts about working for money have led them to a place that is not very "comfortable.” The average American could not go more than a month without working before they would hit serious financial problems. In fact, before we started with Young Living, we didn’t know more than a handful that could go more than a week without getting a paycheck before there would be problems.

See, the average person doesn’t realize that their thoughts create their lives! When it comes to money most people are taught to go to school, get good grades and hope and pray that in a down economy, you can find a JOB and earn wages, pay the bills and just get by with a "comfortable" living.

What happened to the American dream!?!?!

This whole idea of working for someone else and building their asset is not very old. It wasn’t long ago that people worked in their small, family owned businesses and created profits for their own families. With the outbreak of large, franchise businesses many of those small businesses went the way of the dinosaurs. Extinct! Because they could not keep up with the changing world. The reason for this is lack of knowledge! Most people don’t even know the difference between an asset and liability!

So let’s define a few ideas that will help you start living the life you dream of instead of the life you think you are forced to live…

• J.O.B. - Just Over Broke

• Earned Wages – Money made by trading your time for money. Every new hour you work, you start over at zero – “Wages make you a living.”

• Profits – “Profits are better than wages!”- Monies generated by a business that you created, not by trading your time for hourly or salaried wages-“Wages make you a living, profits make you a fortune!”

• Asset – Something that puts money in your pocket every month weather you give your time or not. YOUR J.O.B. IS NOT AN ASSET. An example of an asset is a rental property that pays each month, without you punching a clock each day.

• Liability – Something that takes money out of your pocket every month. The home that you live in is a liability! Not an asset! If you rented it out and collected a rent check each month, then it would be an asset.
